REGIONAL TRAIL CONNECTION STUDY
The Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization (SEMPO) adopted a Regional Trail Connection Study to identify feasible alignment options linking the City of Cape Girardeau’s existing trail network with the City of Jackson’s trail system. The study evaluates potential routes, right-of-way opportunities, environmental and topographic constraints, and connectivity to key destinations. The goal is to develop a coordinated regional vision for active transportation that enhances recreation, mobility, and quality of life across the SEMPO area.
