Proposition D on Nov. 6, 2018 Ballot
At its September 19, 2018 meeting, the SEMPO Board of Directors approved a resolution informing Missouri voters that Proposition D will be on the November 6, 2018 statewide ballot. Proposition D proposes an increase in the state motor fuel tax over a four-year period (increase of 2.5 cents per gallon each year starting July 1, 2019). The cumulative increase at the end of the four-year period would be 10 cents per gallon (from 17 cents to 27 cents). After full implementation, Proposition D would bring in an additional estimated $124 million annually for local street and bridge construction and maintenance statewide.
