Regional Trail Connection Study Public Open Houses

The Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization (SEMPO) is excited to announce dates for a second round of Public Open House events for the ongoing Regional Trail Connection Study. These meetings will focus on draft recommendations for of the study and provide an opportunity for public input. The purpose of the project is to enhance and expand our regional trail network between the City of Cape Girardeau and Jackson.
The public input sessions will be held on two nights. The first Open House will be at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau. The second Open House will be at the Jackson Civic Center. Both meetings and presentations will be the same in each location. Attend the meeting that is most convenient for you. Additional meeting information is below.

- Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm with a presentation starting at 4:30 pm
- Meeting Location: Jackson Civic Center (381 E Deerwood Dr, Jackson, MO)
The Regional Trail Connection Study is a comprehensive effort to evaluate potential trail connections that will link communities, parks, and natural areas across the region. The
goal is to create a seamless and accessible trail network that promotes outdoor recreation, healthy living, and alternative transportation options for residents and visitors.

The Open House will feature informational displays, brief presentations, and opportunities for attendees to ask questions and provide feedback. Representatives from the Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization and the project consulting team will be available to discuss the study and listen to public input. Community members are encouraged to attend and share their feedback on the draft recommendations. Your participation will help shape the future of our trails and contribute to a healthier, more connected community.
